I suppose it's one of those "if it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger" sort of activities -- the icy plunge on a winter's day into the Atlantic. Perhaps most easily approached when preceded by a few hours of medicinal tippling. I'm not sure if the soft bodies who rush south to warm themselves in the tropical sun when winter blasts into New England are entitled to comment on the peculiar activities of those rugged residents who not only pass the entire winter here but subject their partially naked bodies to the punishment that our wintry ocean provides.

ReplyDeleteIt's kind of like watching those folks dodge bulls in Spain, much better view on the sidelines, though deep down inside you really want to be in the action. Oh well there is always next year. Great time!
