Mr. John Dixon Johnston , was quite the builder in Newport.........
He designed and built over 200 houses in and around the city........
He helped draft the city's first building codes.......
He was an inventor..........
An employer of many , many people.........
A lumber mill owner.....
and on and on......
AND OF COURSE , he built our own...
.. ..# 28 Fair Street...in the 1880's

ReplyDeleteI lived in Newport for years miss it terribly! I live in NYC now and am a blogger as well. Coincidently we have the same blog theme--I guess it's the Newport in me :) Keep up the great Newport story telling.
